"The bleak outlook is the way it is because I've never seen a point in writing songs about how happy you are. Happiness has always made less of an impression than sadness. All that sappy, positive shit is for people who don't realize that none of this will matter in a hundred years. You have to be truly great or seriously fucked up to make a name in human history. We understand that we will die without having made any lasting impact on the world and it's time for others to realize the same. That's what we write about, because it is relevant to us. We know that we have nothing to offer society and that's fine, because we don't like society as a whole. I wouldn't say that our outlook is evil, satanic or even negative, it's just realistic."
